One of the habits I’m actively trying to develop is: finishing one task completely before I start the next. I work extremely hard and I’m often frustrated because I end most days not “having anything to show for it” (To my family, friends, mentors - I know I know I know, I’m hard on myself - I’m working on that matterr too). In digging deeper, I realized that my lack of self accomplishment most times stems from the fact that I start a ton of tasks that I don’t complete. Hence, at the end of most days, I feel like I didn’t do anything at all. Hopefully, my quest helps me work smarter. This way, I can create more harmony in my life and make out time for happy things. I am in love with the #Mindvalley app! As a lifelong learner, I have gained infinite joy and prosperity from the lessons and programs I have taken (and continue to take) from the app. Currently, I am enrolled in the "Be Extraordinary" program, which teaches you how to live an extraordinary life. In today’s lesson, "The Art of Blissipline," Vishen (the founder) explains that most people are unhappy because they believe happiness will come once they get something they don’t already have (cliche, but stay with me). We keep thinking about the “future gap”. To combat this, he recommends that instead of looking at the “future gap”, we should look at the “reverse gap” and can do this by thinking: “How have you improved as an individual from the person you were 5 years ago?” Doing this will make you realize far how you’ve come and be grateful for where you are right now! By being happy right now, will make you attract the life of your dreams a lot faster FROM A SPACE OF PURE JOY AND GRATITUDE. You become more excited to live your life today (AS IT IS) as opposed to waiting miserably for external factors to make you happy! You get it?? Greatest lesson learned from a Successfully retired Couple: God rewards hard work! In my most recent episode, I shared what I learned from a couple in their 70’s who are currently living their best lives in Barbados. Ms. Caroline said there is and will never be a substitute for hard work. She’s had to work while raising her kids, at different parts of the world, she worked through the death of a child and pushed through situations she was sure would break hard. When I told her I work hard and have been working hard since high school with no idea if any of the work I do even mattered, she told me “God rewards hard work” and that she and her husband are living proof of that fact. “Follow who know road” 😉 Episode is out now on all audio streaming platforms.
