Bridging the Gap between Faith and Mental Health w. Omotoke Adewale
On the pod, this week is my sistergirl OMOTOKE ADEWALE. Toke is a marriage & family therapist. Growing up, she felt like she didn't quite fit in (she was born in Nigeria and moved to the States at a young age).
Over time, her experiences (navigating her cultural identities) and her Christian faith brought her into the mental health field to create a "ripple effect".
Today, she is the founder of Uprooted Community and the host of the Uprooted Community Podcast. "Uprooted" signifies the intentional act of unlearning/uprooting the familiar, harmful, & toxic ways we've learned to be and instead relearning & replanting ourselves into a healthy, thriving place.
This podcast conversation is over one year in the making, and I am so excited to bring it to fruition finally! ENJOY
